The biggest question of all when planning your family vacation is this: What time of year should we go? Walt Disney World offers many exciting events throughout the year that could make that decision a little easier for you and your travelling group. We've put together a calendar of some of our favorite events throughout the year of 2015 that we believe are magical in every way. February
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
February 19th-22nd
Princesses of all ages are encouraged to sign up for this once-in-a-lifetime marathon that covers Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The weekend events include the Disney Royal Family 5K, Disney Enchanted 10K, Disney's Fit for a Princess Expo, and the headlining event, Disney's Princess Half Marathon.

Mardi Gras (Disney’s Port Orleans Resort)
February 17th, 2015
Special Events and parties are also held at some of the beautiful Disney Park Resorts. Port Orleans Resort hosts an amazing Mardi Gras parade every year, which includes floats made by the Port Orleans staff. The floats are judged as they parade through the resort grounds while throwing New Orleans-style beads and candy to the guests who watch on.
March
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
March 4th-May 17th, 2015
National gardening specialists from HGTV and DIY Network come together to create interactive garden activities and workshops at this beautiful annual spring festival. Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase blossoms with more than 30 million flowers, trees and plants. Anna and Elsa from “Frozen” will join more than 100 topiaries spread throughout the park. Food and beverage marketplaces will be held as outdoor kitchens at select countries. ‘Garden Rocks Concert Series’, formerly known as ‘Flower Power’, will showcase in the open-air America Gardens Theatre every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the Festival. Performers such as Gin Blossoms, En Vogue, and The Village People will be taking the stage on various dates.

May/June/July
Expedition Everest Challenge
May 1-2, 2015
If you’re looking for a little challenging fun during your vacation, we recommend this 5k race offered at Animal Kingdom. Followed by an exclusive Post-Race-Party in the theme park, many attractions are open including Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur, Dinoland U.S.A, and Expedition Everest. Registration is currently open online.
Star Wars Weekends (Hollywood Studios)
May 15-17, 22-24, 29-31, June 5-7 and 12-14
If you're an avid Star Wars addict, this is the time for you to plan your Disney vacay. Disney’s Hollywood Studios hosts the very popular Star Wars Weekends that include Character Processionals, Star Wars character meet and greets, Disney Characters in Star Wars themed outfits, autograph opportunities and much more. From Friday to Sunday, James Arnold Taylor—the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be hosting the Star Wars themed bash.
May 4 through June 14, 2015, experience an unforgettable Character Dining experience at the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater Restaurant with Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Greedo, Jawas, and Stormtroopers. Within the same dates, at Hollywood & Vine, you can Character Dine with your favorite Disney friends dressed in Star Wars costumes (shown below).

Sounds like Summer Concert Series (Epcot)
Dates TBD (June-July, 2015)
While 2015 dates have not been announced, the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series is an annual event at Epcot. Enjoy some of the world’s greatest tribute bands at the America Gardens Theatre. This event is included in regular admission to Epcot and there are usually 3 performances on per night. Stay tuned for dates and performers.
September/October
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Magic Kingdom)

One of our favorite times of year...Halloween! A truly special time to be at the Disney theme parks, as each are decorated appropriately for Halloween. With tickets to the party along with regular admission to Magic Kingdom, your family and friends will enjoy a special Halloween Party that takes place on select nights each fall. Mickey’s Boo-to-you Halloween Parade, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks along with trick-or-treating in the park are some of the highlights you won’t want to miss. Disney Characters will also dress up in Halloween Costumes, making for a not-so-scary night of fun for all.
Admission: $62 for adults; $57 for ages 3-9

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
September 25th-November 16th, 2015
This is at the top of our recommendation list! Wine and dine in gorgeous, sunny-but-cool weather at Epcot for the famous Food & Wine Festival. Taking place every year, Epcot creates an incredible festival featuring more than 25 international marketplace kiosks. Enjoy tapas-sized portions of regional specialities as well as recommended wines and beer pairings, all included in your regular theme park admission! This time of year is extremely busy and crowded. Put all the worry and stress aside by having your VIP tour guide by your side.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Mid November- Early January 2016
A sight like you’ve never seen! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Streets of America displays a holiday light spectacular. Millions of holiday bulbs sparkle on the buildings surrounding the Streets, creating a truly incredible show. A holiday favorite, pictures with your family and friends are a necessity. Also, makes for a great idea for a holiday card.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom)

If you love the holidays like we do, this is your time to vacation! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special event held on select nights during the holidays at Magic Kingdom. The Party includes Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Holiday Wishes fireworks, Celebrate Season Castle stage show, and a magical snowfall over Main Street, U.S.A. Most of your favorite characters are dressed in holiday costumes and offer meet-and-greets each night.
Admission: $62.95 for adults; $57.95 ages 3-9

Holidays Around the World- Candlelight Processional (Epcot)

Epcot’s World Showcase hosts a beautiful holiday processional each year with storytellers of many countries as they recount holiday customs of celebrations. Santa and Mrs. Claus are ready to meet you and take pictures at the American Adventure Pavillion. The Candlelight Processional is performed 3 times each night and retells the story of Christmas.This special holiday event is included with your regular admission ticket.
